San Lorenzo's Institutional Crisis Nears Its End

Buenos Aires, December 16 (NA) – The institutional crisis facing San Lorenzo seems to be nearing its end after the leadership vacuum was confirmed during a meeting where several members of the Cyclone's Board of Directors resigned.

According to what Noticias Argentinas was able to find out, after the momentous meeting that began at 11:00 and continued at 18:00 for its second part, around 22:00 a large number of leaders resigned, with the exception of seven: Marcelo Moretti - president of the institution -, Néstor Ortigoza, Alan Navarro, Emiliano Rodríguez, Sergio Costantino, Alejandro Tamer and Cristian Evangelista.

From this moment on, the Assembly of Representatives will have to take over the provisional leadership and begin the creation of an interim Board of Directors, a step prior to the definitive call for elections to determine the new president of the blue and red club.

Initially, Daniel Matos would be in charge of the new process that the Boedo team will go through, while the San Lorenzo squad, with Damián Ayude as the coach, will have to start the season with an eye on the Professional League and the South American Cup.

However, the club will have to sell players and generate a significant amount of money in order to sign reinforcements for the next season.

The day at the Pedro Bidegain stadium was full of scandals. In addition, a group of fans showed up at the Nuevo Gasómetro to protest against the Board of Directors with a forceful chant: "All of you resign, the ones who gave birth to you, bastards".

Finally, with the leadership vacuum already confirmed and the quorum of many of the blue and red leaders, Moretti himself refused to sign the minutes to begin the new institutional process that San Lorenzo will witness.

Now, the 'Cyclone's' fans and members will have to wait to see who will take over the position provisionally and be alert for a call to elections.

"I started cursing him out, I hit his window."
